A Brief History

Ravenscourt Engineering was founded in 1988 by Mr Henry Smart and Mr. Andrew Olver to meet the growing demand for specialist sub-contractor skills in Electron Beam Welding. The company has grown consistently, year on year, since its inception. It moved to new premises in 2000, having bought out Gifford Engineering, merging the two companies' activities in Yate. The company will be moving into its own larger premises again in the very near future and now offers a wide range of capacities in both EB Welding and CNC Maching.

The company employs a total of approximately 30 dedicated staff at it's prestigious site in Bristol. In its relatively short life the company has become well established as a sub-contract electron beam welding and precision machining company with its emphasis being on satisfying customer demands by providing high quality work with excellent "turn around" times at competitive prices.

After over 20 years, the company's objectives remain broadly unchanged;

• To diversify into other engineering fields to provide a more balanced platform for future growth and to reduce dependance on the sub-contract side of the business.
